Grimes to run for Second Congressional District seat

Rep. David Grimes (R-Montgomery) will announce his decision
to run for the Second Congressional District seat being vacated
by the announced retirement of long term Republican Congressman
Terry Everett at 10 a.m., Friday at the Quad on the campus of
Troy University.
Grimes, a Troy graduate, had served in the Alabama House of
Representatives for six years and has been a strong supporter of
the conservative values found across the Second District.
A former insurance executive in Montgomery, Grimes serves on the
House Banking and Insurance Committee, the House Commerce
Committee and the Internal Affairs Committee of the House of
Representatives.
Grimes, and his wife Barbara, have two sons, John David – 21
and Tyler – 17. They are active members of Trinity
Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Montgomery where David serves as a
Deacon.
